Tal joined Kalow & Springut in 1999 and practices primarily in the areas of trademark and copyright litigation and Internet law. Tal has been involved in a variety of intellectual property matters, including anti-counterfeiting litigation for a major luxury design house, computer software infringement litigation, and cases involving cutting-edge trademark and copyright issues on the Internet. Tal was the lead associate for the plaintiff in Gucci America, Inc. v. Hall & Associates, a published decision which established that Internet Service Providers are not immune from secondary liability for trademark infringement for infringing content posted on websites advertising on the World Wide Web. Tal recently was involved in a series of cases successfully asserting trade dress rights in watch and jewelry designs. Tal holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia University, 1996, where he was twice named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Tal holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University, magna cum laude, 1989. He also received rabbinical ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, 1993. |
